Menes was an ancient writer of Lower Cashmere. Because he wrote some of his work in prison, he was commonly known as Menes the Incarcerate. However, due to the many inconsistences and unfounded statements found in his accounts, some critics would rather call him Menes the Inaccurate. One (barely legible) scroll he wrote in prison discussed the origin of the brownies and how they came to work for the fairies.
