The Sleepless Stoneworker was a mythical figure of Nockmaar. In the folk tale, he was an addled but perceptive man who guarded a great castle full of statues, which he created by petrifiying passerbys with his magic gaze. One day, the bringer of death Ghilasson came to him, disguised as a blind minstrel, and started serenading the Stoneworker with songs of the man's supposed beauty. Because of that, the Stoneworker grew curious to contemplate his own face. The man then looked in the nearest river, and turned himself to stone.
